Team Central Rocks at St. Louis Classic

After a long, but very fun weekend, here is the 4-1-1 on the St. Louis Classic gymnastics meet...

Anna, Jake, Andy and I all worked Friday night's session and Saturday morning, then I continued on for the rest of the weekend.  We all had fun!  I got to announce the awards for levels 3, 4 and 5 - lots of screaming girls and I only messed up on a few names...Jake flashed scores for one session and was a runner for the other, Anna was a runner for both and Andy was a timer for vault and beam.

Anna competed today (Sunday) and had another great meet...
Vault: 9.35 (season high) 3rd Place
Bars: 8.875  12th Place
Beam: 9.1 (season high) 8th Place
Floor: 9.05 5th Place
AA: 6th Place
WAY TO GO ANNA!  And a very special thanks to Jake for writing down all the scores and places for all 12 Team Central girls!

All in all, a great weekend, and I'm only a little hoarse!

Fun in the Snow

It's been rather cold here in St. Louis and we've had a decent amount of snow...so the kids have been enjoying sledding and "snowboarding" down our side hill.  Yesterday, I had fun watching Anna flip, cartwheel, somersault and slide!

Hoops/Jump Rope for Heart

Thanks to everyone who contributed to Jake's Hoops for Heart campaign - he raised over $300 with your help!  Yesterday was the actual event and they had a lot of fun.  Anna's class got to participate with some obstacle courses, jump roping and running the track.  Considering the heart conditions that run in Andy's family, we are very grateful to everyone for donating to such a good cause!  I would post pictures, but I don't have any...

In school, Anna has been learning about the Olympics - thanks to those who participated in the virtual torch relay!  Check out the results here: http://globetrotters.wikispaces.com/Winter+Olympics.  If you watch the video at the bottom, Anna is talking about figure skating.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Gateway Challenge - Colinsville, IL

Way to go Team Central Level 4 Team!  They had so much fun and did very well at the same time.

Anna had an amazing meet - her scores were consistent and all in the 9s, which was just sooooooo cool!  She had a smile and confidence all morning, as did the rest of her team!

Jake had a great attitude today, too - he helped me write down all the scores and rooted for her almost more than Andy and I did.  He even added up all the All Around scores for me!  Gotta love my little mathmetician!

Vault: 9.25 (10th)
Bars: 9.0 (12th)
Beam: 9.05 (5th)
Floor: 9.3 (5th)
All Around: 36.6 (6th)

And yes, I cried when I saw how happy she was and how she met her goal, which was to score all 9s in a meet.  Okay - proud mommy is going to finish watching the Super Bowl!
