Another "Proud Mommy" Moment

Today was the last day of school...which is good and bad.  It's so nice to know that we will be going back to MICDS next year!  The kids had a great year and made more terrific friends!  Some of our friends are moving to new cities or new schools, but they will always be in our hearts and minds...

Today was also the Middle School awards ceremony, used mostly to celebrate the 8th graders, but there were some other awards given out, including the Eugene W. Harris Middle School Chess Award awarded to Jake!  Congrats to Jake for winning this year's tournament!  He made it to the finals and then beat an eighth grader to win!  Way to go!

His friend Andrew was awarded a Yale Book Award for his citizenship and potential.  Very cool!

Then onto the Lower School for popsicles on the playground and the end of year "count down."  The kids got their yearbooks and then went out to play and say "have a good summer" to their friends and teachers.  Good bye to 2nd and 5th grade...hello to 3rd and 6th...HOLY COW!

Looking Back...

Anna and I went to Ladue Horton Watkins High School graduation today...we went to see my student, Allie Fluhr, graduate. I have taught her dance since she was about 4 years old. As we listened to the names being called, I kept hearing names of other students I had taught over the years...Maddie Reynodls, Mackenzie Dillon, Eliana Parnas, AD Hollingsworth...WOW! It made me feel proud, but also old! So, to keep with that theme, I went through some pictures of Jake and Anna from 2005 and 2006...hope they make you smile.  My babies are not babies anymore, and with all that brings, I am such a proud mommy and know how lucky I am to have such terrific kids!

Anna Turns 9!

This week has been full of birthday fun for Miss Anna Banana! We started the week with a dual Megan/Anna birthday celebration at Team Central - ice cream and cupcakes for everyone!  Then Tuesday, the actual birthday, we celebrated at school and at Hebrew school, then Andy made a yummy flank steak dinner.  Thursday night - sleepover with some girlfriends from school (no school on Friday).  Then, family a dual Anna/Marian birthday celebration...whew!  That's a lot!  I have cherished every moment!  Happy Birthday to my baby girl!  (Oh - by the way, she went to the pediatrician for her check-up... 46 pounds, 47 1/2 inches tall - under the 5th percentile for each...the streak continues.)
