Justin Spring Invitational 2013 - Anna's First Level 8 Meet

High School Begins!

Holy crap - Jake is in high school...I cannot believe how fast time goes by. 

I have told my kids for a long time not to wish time away...that statement has never been so true. Jake started 9th grade and Anna is now in 6th. I am so proud of them both!

Duke TIP

This past weekend, I got to take Jake to North Carolina for another three-weeks at Duke TIP Summer Studies! This year, he gets to live on Duke's East Campus (formerly the women's college, and now the freshman campus) and take classes on the main campus. His roommate is nice...his RC (resident counselor) goes to Harvard...and Jake is in his element!

We toured the main campus to see Cameron Indoor and find "Coach K"-ville...not going to try to spell his last name! I then dropped him at his dorm and gave him a big hug. I didn't cry, but wanted to.

We talked last night, and other than being a little homesick, he's happy!

Summer...Not Quite

As the lyrics go, "Schoooooooool's out for summer!" Jake will head to Duke TIP again this summer. He'll be on Duke's campus for three weeks studying "Criminal Trial Advocacy" - I'm guessing we have an attorney in the making. Maybe it will help his writing and speaking skills.  Not surprisingly, Anna will spend the summer at Team Central working towards becoming a level 8 gymnast! Happy Summer Everyone!

2013 State Championships

Last meet of the season for Anna and it was amazing! 1st Place All-Around with a score of 37.775! She placed 2nd on bars and beam, 4th on floor and vault. She improved all of her routines throughout the season and it showed.

Before the meet, she decided to dedicate her state meet to her grandma Sylvia, who passed away early in March. She loved to watch Anna and was proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Congrats Anna on a very successful Level 7 year!

Pikes Peak Cup 2013 - Level 7

We had the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs and stay at The Broadmoor Hotel for a wonderful weekend of gymnastics! Anna had a great meet and we got to hang out in a beautiful part of the country!

SLGC 2013 - Team Central Level 7

Another great competition for Team Central Level 7! All three girls scored over 37 and won their ages in All Around!
